When did you start ffxiv, and why?

I started at the release of A Realm Reborn. I wanted to play the original 14 when it came out because of my love for all things FF, but I was too busy with work and WoW. When I heard that it was getting a remake, I figured “fuck yeah, I’m gonna try it now.” I ended up not sticking around too much after reaching endgame, because everyone I knew in game stopped playing.

Tell us a memorable experience in ffxiv!

This will seem really mundane to most people, but with music being my primary interest, I will never forget this moment. I was leveling in the Thanalan region, and I stepped into the inn at Camp Drybone, I believe it was, for some quest. As soon as I stepped in, that little piano ditty hit me like a train and I just stood there listening to it, and before I realized, at least 10 minutes had passed.

What else do you play right now or in general?

I play lots of single player games, and I enjoy most genres, but my real gaming passion is fighting games.

What was your first Final Fantasy?
And what is your favorite Final Fantasy Game?

The first one I played was VII, and it is probably my favorite, though I have a soft spot for VIII as well.

What do you enjoy doing in ffxiv?

A little bit of everything. I would say Gunbreaker is my favorite job, but I’m not a hardcore player. I level some side jobs, when I feel like it I continue the MSQ. I don’t have anything specific I like doing. Just spending time in the game is its own fun in a way.

Is ffxiv your first mmo? If not, what was your first mmo?

My first MMO was FFXI. I lasted a whole 19 levels, and then I quit, because I had no friends, and it felt near-impossible to solo play that game as a complete beginner like I was.

What are your RL activities that you enjoy?

Playing music. I play drums, guitar and piano, although all of them poorly, especially the latter two. I also like riding my motorcycle when the weather allows it. I’ve always enjoyed driving in all forms that I can think of.

What songs do you enjoy from ffxiv?

Would it be a cop-out for me to say “all of them”? In game music, I’d have to say Victory or Death, Sultana Dreaming (Ul’dah night-time theme), and the little piano ditty I mentioned in my memorable experience section. When it comes to the trailer songs and such, I would say “Answers” and “Revolutions”.

Do you have pets?

I have two cats, Ignis and Umbra. I’ve had them for 13 years at the time of writing. (2021)
